On May 2, Beijing time, the opening race of the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Hungarian round took place. Zhang Xue Racing fielded two riders in qualifying: No.53 Valentin Debise and No.64 Federico Caricasulo. Debise secured sixth on the grid, while Caricasulo finished ninth.
In the main race, Debise steadily climbed through the field, reaching fourth place early on. As the race unfolded, multiple crashes occurred, and after a leading rider went down, Debise moved into third. On the final lap, he executed a stunning overtake to pass both riders ahead of him, crossing the line as champion.
This victory follows Debise’s historic performance at the Portuguese round, where he won both races to claim the first-ever win for a Chinese motorcycle brand in this elite international series. At the subsequent Dutch round, he finished fourth and seventh respectively.
Debise’s consistent success highlights Zhang Xue Racing’s growing competitiveness on the global stage, underscoring the team’s breakthrough in WSBK.
