According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca remains in limbo as he waits for Pep Guardiola’s definitive choice regarding his future at Manchester City. Maresca is considered the frontrunner to become the club’s new head coach.
Several reports have indicated that Guardiola is expected to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, although no official confirmation has been made. Schira claims that Maresca is prepared to step in as City’s next manager as soon as Guardiola’s departure is confirmed.
Maresca parted ways with Chelsea earlier this year, having led the Blues to victory in both the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
