Diksha Dagar made a stunning hole-in-one to highlight a strong opening round at the MCB Ladies Classic in Mauritius, carding a 4-under 68 to sit tied for fourth.

The Indian golfer aced the par-3 11th hole, one of several bright moments in her round. She added birdies on the 15th and 18th to turn in 4-under, then dropped a shot on the fifth but bounced back with a birdie on the ninth, her closing hole.

French golfer Agathe Laisne leads the field after an impressive 8-under 64 on the Legend Course. The Ladies European Tour Order of Merit leader rolled in 10 birdies during her round, including three in a row from holes 13 to 15. Despite a bogey on 16, she recovered with a birdie on 17 and finished strongly with three birdies in her final four holes to set a course record.

South Africa’s Cara Gorlei sits in solo second after a round of 65 that included two eagles. She posted a 7-under total, one shot behind Laisne. Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby is third at 6-under 66.

Among other Indians, Tvesa Malik got off to a good start with a 2-under 70, placing tied-20th. She birdied the second, seventh, and eighth to reach 3-under before a double bogey on the ninth. She recovered later with birdies on the 15th and 17th. Hitaashee Bakshi (71) is tied-30th, while Vani Kapoor (78) is tied-108th and faces a tough battle to make the cut.

Laisne, who has won twice on the LET this season, began her round with back-to-back birdies at 10 and 11. She maintained her momentum despite a brief stumble, finishing with a birdie on the second before a bogey on the fifth. Three birdies in her last four holes sealed the lead.
